6 Posts Too Good to Miss

By Char

Can you tell I am busy these days? I have not even had a chance to write between being without my normal high speed internet (6 days total) and the amount of client work (good) I have going right now.  Anyhow, there is some good stuff out there and I don’t want you to miss out on it!

And a final note of wisdom. If you haven’t upgraded to WordPress 2.5 yet – get it done. And be vigilant about your site security. Thanks for the link love. I really hope after the whole debacle that people research products further before they promote them.

Great list of links.

David – I thought your post was one of the best written of the week – glad to include it!

Two sites hacked!! Yikes, that’s a pain, and sorta scary. Thanks for the link love!

were you able to quickly catch that the sites were hacked? That is scary, and such a nuisance.
Interesting articles. Have you also seen Andy Rutledge’s article on pricing?

Randa & Viv – I was not paying very close attention and did not catch the sites that were hacked as soon as I would have liked. The decrease in traffic really hurt my revenue for the month. I knew something was up, but couldn’t figure it out for about a week.

Let’s hope future versions of WordPress are more consistently secure.

Yikes…I don’t know about 2.5. I have it on a couple of blogs and they still need to work out some bugs in Internet Explorer for the media functions to work properly. Terrible that you were hacked.

Have you changed any practices that would make it easier for you to detect intrusion more quickly in the future? How did you ultimately find out your sites were hacked?
