Earthlink CEO, Garry Betty, Passes Away

I am saddened to hear the news that Earthlink CEO, Garry Betty, has passed away due to cancer at the terribly young age of 49. My heart breaks for the family – cancer is a gut-wrenching disease that has taken the lives of too many, too young.

They have named Mike Lunsford as interim CEO, a position he has held since November when Betty took a leave of absence.

I hope Earthlink can continue its positive ways as they move through this loss. I have had Earthlink as my dial-up provided (always have a back up!) since they bought out Mindspring in the late 90s. They have always served me well and provided a solid product.
