Thanks for linking me Randa!

The version I came up with is quite specific to my needs, but if you give me an idea of what you want I have the knowledge and a bit of fiddling wouldn't take me too long to throw another combination of loops together. Drop me a mail if you think I can help, Char!

Changing the timestamp to a date in the future wouldn't work because posts don't show up until the time in the timestamp has passed. (unless there's some place you can tweak this that I'm not aware of) I use this all the time to stack up posts to appear every couple of days, by setting the timestamp out in the future.

I knew I could count on all of you! Now I am checking them all out and deciding which is the best way to go.

Thanks!

Hmmmm, I'm unsure why you'd want to do that.

I can understand having a static page above your posts, or in front of them, but for a single blog post to appear at the top, wouldn't you be better adding a div to float above the post area?

I always say, "When you can't find, cheat!"

The cheating way to make a sticky post at the top of the page is to set the date to some time distantly in the future (say, April 7, 2017).

That way, until that date, your post should stay at the top of the list.

I was looking for something similar recently, and gave up. I found one called Adhesive, but it caused the same problems that other users reported. I think Phil at Unintentionally Blank has done some experimentation with it, and has a solution: http://www.unintentionallyblank.co.uk/2007/02/18/adventures-with-the-wordpress-loop-sticky-articles/
