The blogging conference, SOBcon, is only a few weeks away now. Following my interview with Chris Cree last week, I am getting Make it Great guy, Phil Gerbyshak’s take on things this week.

While I can’t actually make it to SOBcon this year, Phil promised me he would find all of the bloggers in attendance that I want to speak with, call me, and then take a picture of himself and my favorite bloggers talking with me on the phone. I hope Phil is up for it - I have a mighty long list!

What are you speaking on at SOBcon?

I’ll be starting the conversation around How to be a Relationship Geek. That means I’ll share how to create and build lasting relationships for business and blogging, by knowing more, sharing more, and growing more.

What do you expect attendees to take of value from your session?

I expect attendees will value how I have connected with the readers of my blog, and how they can take that back to their blog.

What made you want to be a part of SOBcon?

There was so much energy and passion for greatness, and relationship building, that it fits in with my way of blogging and my way of life, quite naturally.

Where do you see blogging a year from now?

I think we’ll see more people “getting” blogging, and will use blog software more strategically as a CMS platform, and make articles look more like articles, instead of like text. I expect we’ll see less baubles in folks posts, and more focus on quality content.

Who are you most looking forward to meeting?

I’m going to cheat and name 2 individuals, and 1 group, in no particular order. Troy Worman and I have been corresponding and have blogged together for parts of over 2 years. I am REALLY looking forward to meeting him. And, of course, the amazing Christine Kane. I love music, and Christine is an amazing musician, and one amazing blogger. And I have to include the Iowa Blogga Nostra of Tim Johnson, Drew McLellan, Sandy Renshaw, Mike Sansone, Mike Wagner, and whomever else from Iowa decides to show up. There is so much passion and love from the folks in Iowa that I am so excited to meet each of them.
