My New Tech Toy – Palm Treo 700w

Posted by: Char | Comments (4)

Treo 700wSo, I had this ultra-hip, pink Razr phone for the past 18 months. Let’s just say I hated it, but I am not eligible for an upgrade until February. I figured I would just wait it out, but my husband decided to get me a new phone outright for Christmas. He got me a Palm Treo 700w.

He knew I wanted a PDA phone. He has a Motorola Q and I don’t like the way it feels. The Treo, however, fits nicely in my hand, has a full keyboard for quick texting and email, and is a camera phone, too.

More and more I was finding my self needing the features of a PDA phone. I am using it for my calendar, but I am not synching it with my laptop. I don’t use Outlook on my laptop anymore and the contacts on my laptop, don’t necessarily need to be on my phone.

The Treo comes with the mobile versions of Word, Excel, and Powerpoint. This will be nice – I can do some work while waiting for my kids at their activities. I can surf the web and may get my email on there from time to time. Since I work primarily from home, I won’t need the email access too often.

I’ve already got the bug to dress it up a bit. I ordered a cool Sena Red Leather Magnet Flipper case for it. Nice!

I know I haven’t even scraped the tip of the iceberg when it comes to figuring out all this phone is truly capable of, but I have plenty of time.

Does anyone else have one? Got any good tips for me?
