Briefly looked into Filezilla once, but I don't remember much about it. I've followed CoffeeCup sporadically for years though. I think they've come a long way with their software over the past few in particular. Have you ever tried any of their stuff? The biggest thing for me was working out the ftp address, the username and password and setting it up on my host. It killed me and still does sometimes. After that it gets easier though.
